here's a bit of christmas caroling from seth. he got a little confused with the words, but never lost his trademark joy.
when i ask seth what he wants for christmas, i always get a different answer. the last time i asked him, he said: a cool soccer ball with a picture of fire on it. . .soccer shoes. . .presents, just presents. . .the sky to be beautiful. . .for tucker [our dog] to be cool. . .a new house. this was just a couple of days after i asked him what he would ask santa for at the mall. he thought for a moment and then said, "a hug." wyatt, our son whose desire is insatiable, has a list about five pages long. number one on the list is a four-wheeler. oh dear. i'm afraid santa isn't going to be able to bring that this year. or ever.

seth IS joy to the world! i love that little boy. :)
wyatt is not the only little boy who wants a four wheeler this year. john's little brother asked for a four wheeler or a go kart or a computer. talk about ambitious ...
merry christmas to you and your precious family.
classic.
wait...i'm confused. as a fellow boy, i have wanted and repeatedly asked for a dangerous gift EVERY year for christmas. i thought that's what we were supposed to do. i mean, didn't anyone else pay attention during "A Christmas Story?" Ralphie didn't ask for the bunny suit...he ASKED for a Red Rider BB gun, with a compass in the stock and a thing which tells time!

it's not really the danger i'm opposed to as much as the cost and space issue (and I don't foresee us living on enough land for such a thing for years to come). wyatt assures me that he could just go around and around in our postage-stamp sized front yard w/ his 4-wheeler, but i have my doubts.
