i came across this poem earlier, tucked away in a notebook that holds ideas and words that are precious to me, and it spoke of what repentance might look like for me these days.
i will not live in fear
of falling or catching fire.
i choose to inhabit my days,
to allow my living to open me,
to make me less afraid,
more accessible,
to loosen my heart
until it becomes a wing,
a torch, a promise.
i choose to risk my significance,
to live so that which came to me as seed
goes to the next as blossom,
and that which came to me as blossom
goes on as fruit.

ooo... I love this, Miska. It's almost too much to take in at once. I feel like I could reflect on each line for days, weeks. Thanks for sharing it.
this sounds so much like the life you are so beautifully embracing. i love it and i'm adopting it. may it be so for us and our families.
beautiful. like you. i am inspired by this today. and would love to include it in my own journal so i can re-reflect on it for days and years. at our next park talk, would love to talk about the seed, blossom, fruit metaphor. love that.
I just found your blog through googling your husband's book which was recommended to me today. I love your heart so I"m subscribing to catch your updates when they are posted. I loved the way you stated what you loved and wondered if you would mind if I used your format. Don't want to plagerize but so many of you loves touch my heart as well, I was inspired to add to the list (and delete some as well). Thank you for sharing, your posts are touching hearts you've never even met. I just love that!
Wow, thanks, Deitra! Of course you can use my format--it's not really mine anyway. I've "borrowed" from friends myself.
Peace to you.
Thanks. Looking forward to reading more of your posts.
